Six Bowls of Wrath

1 Then I heard a loud voice from ^athe ^{▼▼ Or sanctuary}temple, saying to the ^cseven angels, “Go and ^dpour out ^{▼▼ Lit into}on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God.”

2 So the first angel went and poured out his bowl ^{▼▼ Lit into
,} ^gon the earth; and it became a loathsome and malignant ^hsore on the ^{▼▼ Gr anthropoi}people ^jwho had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his image.

3 The second angel poured out his bowl ^kinto the sea, and it became blood like that of a dead man; and every living ^{▼▼ Lit soul}thing in the sea died.

4 Then the third angel poured out his bowl into the ^mrivers and the springs of waters; and they ⁿbecame blood. 5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying, ^o“Righteous are You, ^pwho are and who were, O ^qHoly One, because You ^rjudged these things; 6 for they poured out ^sthe blood of saints and prophets, and You have given them ^tblood to drink. They ^{▼▼ Lit are worthy}deserve it.” 7 And I heard ^vthe altar saying, “Yes, O ^wLord God, the Almighty, ^xtrue and righteous are Your judgments.”

8 The fourth angel poured out his bowl upon ^ythe sun, ^zand it was given to it to scorch men with fire. 9 Men were scorched with ^{▼▼ Lit great}fierce heat; and they ^abblasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues, and they ^acdid not repent so as to ^adgive Him glory.

10 Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the ^aethrone of the beast, and his kingdom became ^afdarkened; and they gnawed their tongues because of pain, 11 and they ^agblasphemed the ^ahGod of heaven because of their pains and their ^aisores; and they ^ajdid not repent of their deeds.

12 The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the ^akgreat river, the Euphrates; and ^alits water was dried up, so that ^amthe way would be prepared for the kings ^anfrom the ^{▼▼ Lit rising of the sun}east.

Armageddon

13 And I saw coming out of the mouth of the ^apdragon and out of the mouth of the ^aqbeast and out of the mouth of the ^arfalse prophet, three ^asunclean spirits like ^atfrogs; 14 for they are ^auspirits of demons, ^avperforming signs, which go out to the kings of the ^awwhole ^{▼▼ Lit inhabited earth}world, to ^aygather them together for the war of the ^azgreat day of God, the Almighty. 15 (“Behold, ^baI am coming like a thief. ^bbBlessed is the one who stays awake and keeps his clothes, ^bcso that he will not walk about naked and men will not see his shame.”) 16 And they ^bdgathered them together to the place which ^bein Hebrew is called ^{▼▼ Two early mss read Armagedon

Seventh Bowl of Wrath

17 Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl upon ^bhthe air, and a ^biloud voice came out of the ^{▼▼ Or sanctuary
,} ^bktemple from the throne, saying, ^bl“It is done.” 18 And there were flashes of ^bmlightning and sounds and peals of thunder; and there was ^bna great earthquake, ^bosuch as there had not been since man came to be upon the earth, so great an earthquake was it, and so mighty. 19 ^bpThe great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the ^{▼▼ Or Gentiles}nations fell. ^brBabylon the great was ^bsremembered before God, to give her ^btthe cup of the wine of ^{▼▼ Lit wrath of His anger}His fierce wrath. 20 And ^bvevery island fled away, and the mountains were not found. 21 And ^bwhuge ^{▼▼ Lit hail}hailstones, about ^{▼▼ Lit the weight of a talent}one hundred pounds each, came down from heaven upon men; and men ^bzblasphemed God because of the ^caplague of the hail, because its plague was extremely ^{▼▼ Lit great}severe.
